GOPO

How GOPO® works

Some white blood cells in the body, called granulocytes, are involved in the inflammatory process. They contain granules which enable the cells to ‘clean” an inflamed Osteoarthritic joint by destroying the bacteria which are naturally found within it.

However, too many of these white blood cells actually wear down the tissue cartilage, as they infiltrate the damaged joints of the Osteoarthritis patient. In large numbers they can also release chemical enzymes and toxic free radicals, which cause damaged to the cartilage in the joints.

The accumulation of these white blood cells combined with the release of toxic free radicals causes further damage to the joint and pain due to inflammation i.e. arthritis. The more inflamed the joint becomes, the more the white blood cells are attracted to it, so the process is self-maintaining.

The active compound in Rose-Hip Vital, Galactolipid (GOPO®) works by discouraging large numbers of white blood cells from accumulating in the joint, as well as slowing down the production of toxic free radicals, thereby alleviating pain, helping to reduce inflammation and joint damage.

The inflammatory process – white blood cells leave the blood vessel and travel to the inflamed joint.
