PATIENTS:
112 patients with osteoarthritis of the hip, knee, neck or wrist were
randomly allocated treatment with either Rose-Hip Vital or a placebo for
a total of six months. In this double-blind cross-over test, Group A received
5 placebo capsules twice daily for three months and then immediately switched
to identical capsules with Rose-Hip Vital for another three months and
vice versa with Group B.
AIM: To study whether Rose-Hip Vital would reduce pain and stiffness
of osteoarthritic joints and improve the daily activities of patients,
and evaluate if possible reduction in symptoms was followed by a change
in quality of life parameters.
CONCLUSION:
The data suggests
that Rose-Hip Vital significantly reduces pain and stiffness and augments
general well-being in patients with osteoarthritis. The results also suggest
the action of Rose-Hip Vital is protracted. No patients reported any side effects.
